Through NAPM membership, our members are part of an extensive and growing network which includes multiple facets:

NAPM Members, who are a large and diverse group of businesses who use the mail or provide services/equipment within the postal industry.  Through NAPM membership, these businesses are connected with peers, vendors, and potential business partners.  NAPM also has a host of committees targeting different industry areas.  Collectively, there are thousands of years of postal and communications experience within our membership, all of whom are willing to share that experience and knowledge. Whether you have a simple question about a mail piece, looking for business advice, or trying to keep up with the rapidly changing Postal Service and mailing industry, you can find answers quickly through your computer or smart phone.

NAPM offers many ways for its members to interact and engage, including monthly member telecon meetings/webinars, an annual in-person meeting, email, social media, and web site communication areas.

Senior Postal Service officials – NAPM meets regularly with the USPS’ executive leadership, Postmaster General, and key USPS officials.  NAPM also attends the monthly meetings of the USPS Board of Governors, and the monthly industry association executives meeting held with the Postmaster General and senior staff.

Postal Regulators and Oversight.  NAPM tracks and reviews work performed by a variety of postal regulators (including the Postal Regulatory Commission) and oversight bodies (including the USPS Office of Inspector General), and communicates information to its members on the direction and work in these areas.  NAPM also ensures that these important groups are informed about the needs and concerns of its members through regular meetings and contact.

An extensive industry network.  NAPM is a member of the Postmaster General’s Mailers Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC) which meets regularly to discuss postal operations issues of all kinds, and which includes teams and workgroups targeting specific issues.  Many NAPM members have the opportunity to participate on these efforts first hand to help develop solutions to USPS technical and business problems while also representing industry interests to the USPS.   Through MTAC membership, NAPM regularly meets with representatives from over 100 other postal-related associations, collaborating on common concerns.

In addition, NAPM often collaborates with other industry associations, providing members with an even more extensive reach and opportunities.

Legislators.  NAPM works along with other industry associations to represent its members’ concerns on Capitol Hill and with postal legislators.  We track postal-related legislation in the works that could impact our members and provide information and guidance on who to contact on the Hill to make our concerns known.
